Biography

Patience Appiah Haefliger is a Ghanaian-Swiss artist whose paintings bridge cultures, memory, and emotion. Raised between Accra and Geneva, she draws on her Ghanaian heritage and life in Switzerland to create works exploring identity, femininity, movement, and human connection.

Working primarily in oil, gouache, and ink, Patience creates one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by vibrant African scenes, serene Swiss landscapes, the strength and grace of women, and the elegance of golf in motion. Her work combines rich colour, expressive brushwork, and layered texture to create paintings that invite both reflection and connection.

After a professional career with a specialized United Nations agency in Geneva, she returned fully to her artistic practice. She now paints from her studio in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, and also creates commissioned works.

Signing her work as Appiah, she invites collectors into her world of “Painting Between Worlds.”
